Mosaic Minds presents our 3rd Unconference: “The Food of Our Lives: Dirty Secrets, Future Affairs”
Central theme: Current local opportunities for healthy food relationships/ food justice. Lessons learnt from the past.
WHAT: An opportunity to meet local changemakers, learn skills, share knowledge and explore and strengthen our diverse communities.
WHERE: 10981-127st, the Creator’s Code.
WHEN: Sunday April 28, 1pm-8pm & Monday April 29, 5-9pm
HOW MUCH: $15-40 sliding scale – sustainably procured, delicious meals and childcare provided.
WHY: Bringing diverse communities together to learn from each other.
Mosaic Minds uses Unconferences to discuss local issues. Unconferences use ground up, participatory processes to create a live schedule. The unconference format creates space for peer-to-peer learning, collaboration and creativity.
We welcome everyone to consider hosting a session/discussion/workshop on a topic that interests them. Some suggestions have been for sessions:
-Local Food – past affairs, current topics and future entanglements
-Community Supported Agriculture
-Northeast Agricultural Land – update and learning
-Food costs and inflation
-Genetically modified products
-Organic Food: Benefits and drawbacks
-Seed & seedling swap
-Composting and vermiculture
-Indigenous and traditional food systems
We welcome sessions of all types and encourage anyone, no matter what experience level, to consider hosting a session around the central theme.
